Rug Cleaning in Homewood
Collection and delivery in Homewood are included. We take the rug back to the workshop, wash it properly, and bring it home.
What Homewood is built from
1920s and 1930s bungalows, cottages and Spanish Colonial Revival houses on the floor of Shades Valley between the two ridges, in Edgewood, Hollywood and Rosedale, with newer infill and a lot of houses that have been taken back to their original floors.
A walkable, front-porch part of town — young families, dog owners, people who bought a small house on a good street and then spent a decade improving it. Doors and windows are open the moment the weather allows.
The Homewood problem
Spring pollen is the local signature, and it is not the same thing as dust. Oak and pine pollen arrives in Jones Valley in enormous quantity, coats everything with a yellow film for weeks, and comes indoors on shoes, on dogs and straight through an open door. The grains are resinous rather than inert: they go tacky when the humidity climbs, and once they are tacky they hold every other bit of soil that lands on them. That is why a rug that looked merely dusty in March reads as dull and grey by June, and why running a vacuum over it barely changes anything — the load is bound to the fibre rather than sitting loose on top of it. It has to be broken up dry and then flushed out with water, which is the whole argument for taking the rug out of the house rather than working on it in the room.
If that sounds like your rug, send the form and describe what you are seeing. We will tell you whether it needs the full treatment or not.
